Jonathan Doughty - Juniper

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Doughty as Partner - Real Estate & Placemaking at Juniper Strategy. An industry legend with over 45 years of foodservice experience, Jonathan will spearhead our services for developers, landlords and placemakers. A true "foodie for life", Jonathan's passion for hospitality was ignited at age 14 while working in a pub in his hometown of Nottingham, England. He went on to train as a chef, with his first role in a Polish restaurant sparking his love for global cuisines. After holding operational roles at major brands like Imperial Inns, Trusthouse Forte, Whitbread, Mars, and Marriott, Jonathan embarked on his consulting career in 1989.

In 1993, he founded the trailblazing consultancy Coverpoint, which quickly became an industry leader providing innovative foodservice strategies to over 250 landlords across 50 countries. Coverpoint pioneered new approaches to integrating food and retail, including developing some of the UK's first food courts. The firm was acquired by JLL in 2014, where Jonathan continued to lead JLL's global foodservice team. From there, Jonathan went on to serve as Global Head of Foodservice at ECE, one of Europe's largest real estate businesses. Currently, he acts as a consultant in ECE's Marketplaces business, focusing on special projects, alongside his roles as chairman of WhiteSpace Partners and Real Estate & Placemaking Partner at Juniper strategy.

Jonathan joins a dynamic team of seasoned hospitality experts at Juniper; Florence Graham-Dixon brings over a decade of experience, having worked with major brands like Burger King, Ottolenghi, and Pret a Manger, alongside private equity clients, visitor attractions and commercial developers including Kleppiere, intu and Land Securities; Alison Vickers, who was instrumental in driving the expansion of YO! Sushi from just 4 locations to 100, has supported franchising and expansion efforts for brands such as Gusto, Tonkotsu and Ottolenghi, and leads catering tenders for major airports; Vida Tayebi who has extensive experience adapting and developing F&B concepts across the Middle East and Europe alongside defining the F&B vision for GCI's award-winning office development, Latitude in Paris.

Jonathan's appointment strengthens our expertise in providing strategic F&B advisory for mixed-use schemes, malls, airports and placemaking projects worldwide. His deep industry knowledge, combined with our team's skills in areas like commercial due diligence, market entry, concept development, location planning, and scalability assessments, will allow us to offer a comprehensive suite of services. With our combined capabilities, we look forward to helping clients unlock new growth opportunities across the global hospitality landscape.
